Under general supervision the Pricing Supervisor will make recommendation to the General Manager, Pricing to establish, maintain and analyze price reference documentation, and to make recommendations that will facilitate optimal pricing decisions to be made by Pricing and Sales teams. This position will be responsible for cost modeling to support the pricing decision to ensure market competitiveness. 



· Provide regular and detailed pricing analysis and trip margin review to management.

· Work with Management to develop and implement pricing strategies for the various markets and channels.

· Coordinate the development of rate proposals for the sales teams.

· Will assist in the overseeing the automated pricing development.

· Provide project support and analysis to management, to include accounts analysis for accuracy and profitability.

· Download and organize baseline price information, analyze and report on inconsistencies, and identify opportunities to optimize sales and profitability through price strategies.

· Perform margin and pricing analysis to support key business initiatives as required

· Conduct density studies on a quality base to optimize profitability 

· Analyze cubing data to ensure unit margins are meet based on the cost modeling for specific accounts 

· Must be able to prepare adhoc reports as required or on demand

· Supervise a team of pricing analysts to ensure efficient interaction with our customer base and sales teams.

· Perform other duties as assigned, including specific analysis on methods to optimize price through market and pricing strategies.

· Participate in rate tender preparation and completion. 




· Must understand the external influences that impact our internal cost modeling structure.

· Must have intimate knowledge of the Transportation market and our competitors that will influence our market position.

· Must have working knowledge in procurement on commodities that fit our cost modeling structure and enhance our unit margins and profitability. 

· Must have strong knowledge in static analysis, extraction, data mining and interpretation of the data enabling sound recommendations. Must able to examine tender documents and pricing request for domestic sales on a large scale) to ensure pricing is within our guidelines. 

· Audit request for pricing (RFP) to ensure tenders terms and conditions are within our pricing guidelines  

· Must have at least 5 years of working knowledge of the transportation industry, specifically in pricing

· Must be able to work cross functionally with different departments and branches as needed and as well as directly within the Traffic Department.

· Must be proficient in software programs such as Microsoft Office, advanced level in Excel, preference given to experience with the AS400.
